Shipping Information

Shipping and Handling

All shipping charges are estimated at checkout. We do our best provide accurate shipping costs, but occasionally due to size, weight etc, shipping costs may differ from the estimates given online. Shipping and handling rates are subject to change without notice and are calculated by size, weight and box count. All shipping charges are to be paid by the customer.  Additional charges may apply (if applicable) for address corrections, out of box fees, insurance, additional handling fees or  C.O.D fees.

Shipping Times

Unless there are unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, most small parcel orders are shipped within 1-2 business days.  Most orders are shipped UPS or Fedex Ground unless an item is too large and must be shipped by commercial freight carrier. Due to new pickup policies implemented by UPS, orders are now shipped on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. For commercial freight shipments and upon freight rate approval, we will ship your order with the carrier that has the most economical price unless you request a specific carrier.  Commercial freight orders usually ship (leave our dock) within 2-3 business days.  Transit/delivery times will vary between carriers.  When receiving a commercial freight order, be sure to inspect the shipment for any damages prior to signing and if any damage is visible please note it on the paperwork and then sign.

Damaged Shipments

There are occasions when packages are damaged during shipment.  Any damage or shortage must be reported within 3 business days.

Before accepting or signing for a shipment, inspect all packages for damage.  If you receive a package that you think has been damaged, DO NOT sign for the package.   Upon receipt of your shipment, it is the purchaser’s responsibility to be certain all product, boxes, etc. are received as shown on the shipping record.  Note on the carriers delivery receipt and consignee’s copy of freight bill any visible damage (ex: punctures, crushes, wetness, etc.) and have the carrier’s driver sign as proof of acceptance.  You will need a copy of the signed freight bill to file a claim for damage.  In the case of concealed damage, contact the delivering carrier at once for a concealed damage inspection.  Keep all packing and shipping containers.

In all cases, the carrier is responsible for safe delivery of packages.  For damages on UPS or FEDEX packages, be sure to keep the shipping container and all contents, and arrange for a UPS/FEDEX inspection.  For commercial carrier freight damages, contact the delivering carrier to file a claim.  Make sure any visible damage is noted by the carrier.

If you accept a damaged shipment, you must originate the claim with the carrier.  Whitfield’s Corporation cannot file claims on your behalf with the carrier once it's been accepted.

In the event your shipment is damaged in transit before it reaches its destination, we will contact you as soon as we are notified of the damage and your purchase will be re-shipped to you.
